During the weekend, I decided to go to church. I went alone, felt nervous, and worried how I would listen to keep up with the bible. I stopped going to church since I moved out of Los Angeles about six years ago. I never felt comfortable going to church because I pretend to listen what I could not hear. I couldn’t keep up reading the bible during church for a Spanish mass. This time, I decided to go to church where everyone speaks English and the experience was fulfilling. I took my hearing aids and for the first time in my life, I clearly heard everything at church. It is the first time I enjoy going to church. I closed my eyes several times to hear the piano and the songs that was being played just to make sure I wasn’t pretending to listen. I wore one hearing aid because it was loud but I felt happy and fit in. I will continue to go to church because I feel comfortable and I want to get closer to God. Believe in yourself, be grateful, and thankful for the things you have in your life.
